Swipey pricing questions, answered properly
Short answers to the money questions. What the free tier of Swipey includes, where it stops, what a paid tier adds, how billing and cancelling work, and how to decide. Prices change often, so treat the checkout screen as the only source of truth.
Living on the free tier
How long can I realistically stay on the free tier?
Indefinitely, if your usage suits it. The free tier is not a trial with an expiry date, so there is no point at which it switches off and demands payment. What limits you is volume: an allowance of conversation that refreshes rather than a countdown to a paywall. Plenty of people who chat a few times a week never find a reason to upgrade at all.
What does the free tier hold back?
Headroom and extras, rather than the core experience. Building a companion, defining her personality and having genuine conversations all happen on the free side. What paid tiers add is more of it — fewer interruptions — plus the more indulgent features that sit outside plain chat. That distinction matters: you are not being sold access, you are being sold capacity.
Will the free tier get worse over time?
We cannot promise anything about a product we do not operate, and any app can revise its tiers. What we can say is that the current structure is volume-based rather than feature-locked, and that no review page is a reliable record of what free includes today. Open the app, look at what is available to you, and judge from that.
Deciding to upgrade
How do I know when upgrading is actually worth it?
Count interruptions over a week of normal use. If the cap stops a conversation you wanted to continue five or more times, a paid tier is buying back something you demonstrably want. Once or twice, and you would be paying for headroom you will not use. This is the whole calculation — feature lists are a distraction from it. Check the current price at checkout before you commit either way.
Should I upgrade on day one to see everything?
We would not. The free tier already shows you whether the conversation quality suits you, which is the part that decides whether you keep using the app at all. Paying on day one buys capacity you have not yet established a need for. Give it a week first — nothing about the free tier expires while you make up your mind.
Is there any way to get more out of free without paying?
Be deliberate about pacing rather than trying to game anything. Shorter, more frequent sessions tend to sit inside a volume allowance far more comfortably than marathon evenings. Setting your companion's personality precisely up front also cuts down the aimless back-and-forth that burns allowance without giving you much. Beyond that, if you keep hitting the ceiling, the ceiling is telling you something.
Billing and cancelling
What actually happens when I cancel?
You return to the free tier rather than losing your account. Your companion, her personality and your history remain; you simply live within the free volume limits again. That makes trying a paid tier lower-risk than it feels, because the downgrade path leads back to a usable product rather than a locked door. Handle the cancellation in the account settings where you started the plan.
Why will you not tell me the price?
Because we would be wrong within weeks. Plan names change, promotional rates rotate, and regional pricing differs. Any figure printed here would eventually mislead someone into a decision based on a number that no longer exists. The upgrade screen inside the app shows what you would actually be charged, in your own currency, today. That is the only figure worth acting on.
